JetBlue Airways Falls 5.5% After Cutting Q4 Outlook for Some Sales Measures
JetBlue Airways (JBLU) is down after warning that ticket sales for the holiday season could be weaker than expected. It lowered its outlook for Q4 revenue measures because average fares and close-in bookings trailed its projections, media reports said. It cut its Q4 forecasts for two performance measures: passenger revenue per available seat mile and revenue per available seat mile. The carrier forecast a rise of 10% to 12% in passenger revenue per available seat mile, compared with a prior view of 12% to 15%. It said revenue per available seat mile would probably rise 8% to 10%, down from the previous view of 10% to 13%.
