American Airlines B737 departure from Los Angeles
Welcome aboard American Airlines flight 244 with service to Orlando! This B737-800 is now seen departing Los Angeles (LAX)! Flight time was 4 hrs & 50 min. I am not a fan of AA but there price was good and the departure time worked best for us. On this aircraft there are power ports but with my luck they did not work in my row! Besides that the flight was great! The flight crew was very nice and they came around multiple times during the flight offering complimentary drinks and snacks for sale. Enjoy the video! – - Interesting story: As usual I went into the cockpit and talked to the pilot and got some nice pictures
My mother was out side with the first officer and she was telling him how I want to fly commercial aircraft one day. He said “You should talk your son out of it. It is not worth it. It took me 10 years to get where I am now & we don’t make much money. My friend drives a truck for a major retail store and only makes 00 less them me.” An In-Flight crew member then said “You should always go for your dreams”. That just blew my mind when my mother told me that! How can you tell a kid wanting to fly one day that?! I lost all respect for that man. As we exited the plane he said “have a nice day” to me and I looked him in the eye and shook my head and walked off the plane. That man right there should not be flying. If he thinks it is not worth it then why did he do it in the first place? I think he is a little crazy! Of course it is going to take a long time …

@TheLiLD95 I’ll I’ve ever flown is American so I cant really compare it to other airlines. But I agree that economy is alright, nothing great. But thats why I record the flight or use my laptop.

@heissbari American is ehhh. I flew with them out of JFK for the first 8 years of my life. Then we switched to Continental. We fly American on and off, first class and economy and I can tell you there economy is not the best. There first class on domestic aircraft is also, not the best but what ever, I have my computer to keep me company.

not so sure I agree with your view on American. Then again I am a little bit biased considering my dad works for them! Good video and be a pilot, thats what I want to do

thnx, it could be useful for a future film

@TheLiLD95 I have the same dream as you.. If that FO was so bothered about the money he should have became a Doctor instead. I would be very happy with the job that he has, however little pay.

@Cambridgeflyer Thank you! My point that no one understands!

Who care’s if it takes 10 years to become a 737 first officer and you don’t earn much money! Being able to fly one of those incredible aircraft’s would be the most amazing thing in the world! I would do so much to have his job and he is saying how crap it is, what a joker! He need’s to look in the mirror and see how lucky he is.

@DansJets Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I am not going to record, edit, and post takeoff’s and landing’s on YouTube my whole life. Just because you don’t have a military background does not mean airlines won’t hire you. Yes, if you have the experience it is easier to be accepting but you can still be accepted with out military experience. If airlines did not accept people with no military background then they would be out of business because they would not have enough pilots.

Your video was very good, you did a good job with the camera, a beautiful take-off on the great LAX 25R. The 738 is a beautiful airplane. As for wanting to be a pilot, you might want to just continue with what you are doing now. It’s very complicated and if you don’t have any military experience behind you, forget it. Thanks again for sharing.

@TheLiLD95 I meant in the past. That wouldn’t be in the right chrono order. So I meant before you got on the plane, they most likely went a little too fast while extending them.

@dabears1218 I am not doing it for the money I am doing it for the fun. I know many pilots to and if you are not flying International, it is not always that fun. Flying domestic never the less regional can sometimes be brutal. I do not look of it as a money stand point but more for the fun. I can understand why he is saying try something else because this is not a good job but then why is he there in the first place if he does not recommend it for someone else?

I think you really missed the point of what the pilot was saying. Today’s airline pilots are severely overworked and underpaid. I’ve got a few friends that are pilots, and they all say the same thing. If you love flying, get a pilots license, fly for fun, but don’t make a career out of it.
I bet you didn’t know that many regional airline pilots are on food stamps because they aren’t paid enough to even afford food. It’s not a glorious industry.

@SkyWestCRJPilot That needs to be a HARD landing! And on approach to MCO the cockpit crew did extend the flaps at a wrong speed and they auto corrected and went back up
February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
@TheLiLD95 A hard landing can mess up anything. It must of been going slightly fast during extension.
February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
@SkyWestCRJPilot The aircraft was less than 3 months old when we flew on it. Hard to believe the flaps were in a sense “broken” after only being 3 months in service. Don’t know how a hard landing can mess up the flaps.
February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
I am thinking the aircraft has had some bad landings because of the flaps motor sounds a little multi-pitched.
Either that or they have extended the flaps at speeds they shouldn’t have.

Beautiful take-off, thanks for sharing. The 738 is a beauty. LAX, runway 25R is a great departure runway, thanks again.

@vgarcez77 Yes, @ 4:34 there is a zoom into that aircraft. The Bradley International terminal hosts many international flights. Most of the airlines that operate international flights out of LAX (not including American, Delta, United or any of the other airlines that have hubs there) go to/from the Bradley terminal. In terms of re-designing it or renovation I have no clue.
February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
@ 4:01 you can see another plane taking off from runway 24L. Does anyone know what they are doing to the Bradley International Terminal?
February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
@vgarcez77 Thanks!

February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
I want to be a pilot for AA 2 I love flying!

@PilotUTA Yep the base moves forward
It’s very nice and makes the limited recline feel A LOT better! The leather head supports are very nice too. Two per three seats in coach have a power port!
February 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
Is this the new American 737-800 cabin i keep hearing about? When you reclined your seat, did the base move forward?
