Entry from: Coolangatta, Australia Entry Title: “Our first experience with Air Asia X” Entry: “Well here we are, ready to rock n roll on the most ‘cost effective’ holiday we’ve ever had. Back in August 2008 I stumbled into a sale on the Air Asia website where seats were going for as little as plus taxes and surcharges. It was too good to pass up so I booked the four of us (Tracy, myself and our two youngest daughters) to Kuala Lumpur and back for just A60! That’s just A5 each in case you’re having trouble with the math. At the same time, I booked onward legs to Bangkok, Krabi, back to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and back to Kuala Lumpur for the four of us for about another A00! What a bargain! Tracy and I have seen a little of Malaysia before on a “backpacking” trip to Singapore, Malacca and Kuala Lumpur. But the focus of this trip is Thailand which we have never visited before. We’ve decided to see as much as we can in three weeks, so we’ve chosen to spend a week in Bangkok for the shopping, a week in Krabi (south) for the beaches, and a week in Chiang Mai (north) for the mountains and minority villages. Because I’ve had over five months to sweat the detail of this trip, almost every detail has been planned. But who knows what we’ll be in for. Air Asia has already moved one of our connecting …
