See the official announcement here: bit.ly This new airline will offer domestic fares on average 40% cheaper in Japan. @ghentboy Sorry mate I must have misread your first comment. I am just sick of seeing people bag Jetstar for the service they provide. When I came to Japan 10 years ago it cost me A$1200 return with Garuda Indonesia. and that was for just 1 person. Now I am married with 2 kids and I can take the whole family for the same price direct. I love Jetstar and I thank them for allowing my family travel internationally DIRECT! Sorry if my original reply was out of line.

Bad thing for JAL, good thing for Japanese tourism.

@greydaniel69 Thanks for your comments and feedback. We really appreciate it. We’re very excited about bringing low fares and good times to domestic Japan. We believe it will bring new travel options within reach for more people – Jetstar

@ObsessionMotorcycles Have flown many times, dont get me wrong this new service will be great! Just ever since they made it cheaper to not have checked baggage, heaps of people bring massively oversized bags on board making it a joke to board a plane for obvious reasons. Its not just Jetstar, its all the airlines that do it. Last night we had the crew stack them at the back of the plane – really safe practice if the plane gets tossed around hard… other than that Jetstar is one of the best!

@ObsessionMotorcycles “idiots” in whose humble opinion? that kind of attitude would last about three seconds in the Japanese domestic market, after all, Japan is the land of customer service and politeness above everything else. If they are to survive in that market, they have some learning to do which is more than just having people jump up and down in front of some stereotypical landmarks.

@greydaniel69 I have never ever had a problem with Jetstar. maybe they just treat the idiots they way they see them. Jetstar is #1 in my books for price and service.
