www.fertur-travel.com The Santuario Historico de Pampas is 34 kilometers north-east of Ayacucho. Its the site of the last battle Peru fought against the Spanish on the 9th of December 1824. The victory confirmed Perus independence and finally ended Spanish control over South America. Its considered a national historical sanctuary and memorial to fallen heroes.
