Airline Ticket Fares
Southwest Airlines finds itself in the cross hairs of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) over allegations the carrier has flown numerous flights while failing to comply with mandatory inspections as called for by an Airworthiness Directive (AD). The airline has now grounded 31 Boeing 737s overnight.

I funny, SWA is not secure. Did ya’ll know that Southwest is the only airline that closes operations when lighings are 5 miles or closer to an airport wen other airlines continue to work. Yea, SWA’s 737 are old, but hell what other airline get their airplanes in the air with 25 minutes, and even some time in 10 minutes. I work at SWA and I love it.

Dude, it’s called COMPETITION!!! All business do that.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
ya i would do they same thing
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
Once again, sorry to say you are mistaken. Go to the FAA’s site and see for yourself.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
ya if this happened southwest would not be around anymore

I’m afraid you are misinformed. Their record, while very good, is not perfect. They are an excellent carrier staffed by able crews and I have and will still fly them when required.

You know thats a bunch of crap SWA has like the best safety record i think thats American Airlines is trying to get them run out of buisness cause there jealous! that is a bunch of governmanet crap and AA!

WOW!!!!!when i was goin to adams airport in arkansas i found a crack on my window and i just stared at it but sw is a great airline and i want to fly for them
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
Southwest is statistically one of the safest airlines in the U.S. to fly on. Not to mention that their flight attendants are entertaining as hell!
As far as I am concerned, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it!
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
FOR EVERYONE THAT IS WONDERING… Southwest only flys the boeing 737-300/500/700… they do this because that want to keep training costs low by just having to train there pilots on the 737.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
there not damage you retard, they didn’t go to inspection, may i remind you that aloha 243 was a 20 year old 737-200, and southwest’s oldest planes are the new series, which are 737-300′s, they are a lot newer and different from 200′s, 300′s are very common airliners, plus theirs only ninety in southwest’s fleet, and 20 500′s, all the rest are the new generation 700′s, which would not have fatigue cracks for another 20 years or more.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
southwest currently only operates a fleet consisted of 737-300/500/700 aircraft, but they have flown two 727-200 leased from brannif back in the 80`s.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
yes it does and thats what makes it euniqe and its much more cost effective than running multi plane types
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
Wtf did this guy say?
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
ya know, ive only heard about like, 3 SWA crashes
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
You guys are right. They currently have a total of 539 aircraft which all of them are B737s.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
I believe so.
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
umm does sothwest only have 737s?
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
I fly SWA frequently and have no reservation in doing so. They are my #1 choice in travel!!
Southwest ROCKS!!
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
How FAA did not tracked this maintenance failure before, they track all logbooks!could some one explain
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
I never knew they had a shamoo plane :O
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
How stupid can an airline be to fly damaged planes!
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
They haven’t. I heard that they took planes out of service to fix them. Had they continued not inspecting the planes would Southwest not fly anymore. I just have the provision that the Southwest plane I’ll be on to Seattle will explode or I’ll get sucked out of it
January 5th, 2010 at 12:14 am
You’d hope so!
